Gloria Monasmith has a bachelors and masters degree in Social Work. She has been a family therapist since 2008, her social work experiences has also included community activism and grant writing. Gloria believes in the power of personal choice and has a passion for empowering people to choose their best life.

Gloria has a deep passion for listening to stories, knowing that there are clues that identify the strengths that are the keys to a client's success. She specializes in trauma-informed care and helping clients identify and remove toxic dynamics from the relationships in their lives...family, personal social, and professional.
Lee of the Stone...
Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH is a 1971 children's book by Robert C. O'Brien. In the story, a family of mice is seeking safety from the farmer's plow. Though the family usually moves to their summer home during farming season, they are unable to make the move due to a sick family member. In seeking help from neighboring rats to save the family, the neighbors make and excute a plan to move the mice family's home to the "lee of the stone." It referred to the safe side of a large stone in the field that would protect the family from the plow.

Gloria first read the book as a little girl and, even then, the phrase stood out in her head. As she matured and grew to follow her passion of working with people, "the lee of the stone" came to mean more than just a hiding place for Mrs. Frisby and her little family. It became a passion to be a safe space, in the midst of uncontrollable life circumstances, where growth and healing can take place.

In January, 2018, Gloria formally incorporated Lee of the Stone, LLC. It is the umbrella organization for Lee of the Stone Life Coaching and Counseling, an individual empowerment agency and Woman, ROCK!, a nonprofit social group for women who are interested in personal development and growth.
